Functionalized Magnetic Nanoparticles
Magnetite nanoparticles are developed wich are covered by organic shells bearing functional groups, such as reactive groups, biological and other recognition functions, catalytic units, metal compexing groups. The shells can be monomeric or polymeric. The nanoparticles are superparamagnetic and thus are interesting for various applications such as targeted drug delivery, hyperthermia, separation of biomaterials or toxic materials and as easily recyclable catalysts. The properties of the nanocomposites are investigated by TEM, SEM, HRTEM, FTIR spectroscopy and magnetization measurements.
