DNA/RNA programmed Synthesis - What we are doing

DNA/RNA progr synth_Teaser Figure

In an ongoing project we explore whether expressed RNA molecules can act as triggers for the synthesis of drug-like molecules (Figure 1). We envision chemical peptidyl transfer reaction in live cells. The product will induce apoptosis by targeting Bcl-2 family and XIAP family proteins. For this purpose, we must deliver reactive conjugates into cells. A different subproject deals with the development of a method that leads to the formation of small molecule receptor tyrosinkinase (RTK) inhibitors. We explore amid-forming reactions and templated Wittig reactions.
