PhD Position in Bioorganic Chemistry, Template-mediated peptide synthesis

 

PhD Bioorganic Chemistry - Template-mediated peptide synthesis (anti cancer)

We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate interested in an innovative and interdisciplinary research at the chemistry/biology interface. The project involves the bioorganic synthesis of nucleic acid derivatives for the template-mediated generation of peptides in and on living cells. Peptide conjugates will be designed for the treatment of cancer cells. The position includes teaching in organic chemistry seminars and lab courses, publication of scientific results, andtasks for the scientific qualification (doctorate).

Master degree or equivalent in organic chemistry or biochemistry (preferably with very good results);
experience in bioorganic synthesis, preferably in nucleic acid and peptide synthesis and analytics. The ideal candidate has command over organic chemistry methods and is experienced with cellular studies as well as interdisciplinary research approaches, very good communication and English skills, capability of interdisciplinary work.
